About Password Generator

Last updated: 2026-10-11

Password Generator is a free password tool. It makes three kinds of credentials — long random strings, memorable word-based passphrases, and short numeric PINs — and it does so in a way most password tools do not: everything happens inside your browser.

Fully client-side generation

When you generate a password, your browser's own cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues) produces the randomness. No request is sent to a server, no parameter of yours is recorded, and no result is ever stored. Technically, the site cannot know the password you generated, because it never sees it — the page you are on is a static file, and the code that builds your password never calls the network.

  • Privacy. Your choices (length, character sets, mode) and your results stay on your device.
  • Speed. There is no round trip to a server; a new password appears the instant you change an option.
  • Transparency. The source is a small, readable file. If you want to check how your randomness is produced, there is nothing hidden.

The three modes

Random draws each character uniformly from the character sets you enable, guarantees at least one character from each enabled set, and measures the result in bits of entropy. Memorable picks a few real words (drawn without replacement from a built-in list), joins them with a separator, and optionally capitalizes them and adds a number — a strong password you can actually type from memory. PIN produces short numeric codes for systems that only accept digits, with a clear warning about how much weaker short PINs are.

Who is behind this site

Password Generator is part of a small collection of free, single-purpose web tools. The sites are built as plain, fast, static pages that work on phones and desktops alike, and they are kept running with the help of third-party advertising. You can read exactly how advertising and data handling work on our Privacy Policy.
